Claude Ramon Forse

 

Claude Forse was born at Englefield Green, Surrey in October 1879.  

He married Margaret Clara Burton in 1905 and had three sons, Edward, Claude and Ian.

 

He was appointed headmaster of Trentham Elementary School in 1905 and was still working there and living in the adjacent schoolhouse when he was mobilised in June 1916.  

 

He served as a gunner with 208 Siege Battery of the Royal Garrison Artillery. His regimental number was 102386.  He was promoted to corporal in 1917, but died of wounds on 30 April 1918 aged 38.  

 

He is buried in Ebblinghem Military Cemetery (Nord), France.
